From The University of Texas, to the 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. In three deployments abroad, he earned a long list of awards and decorations. Jimmy was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge. His final act of valor saved the life of a fellow Green Beret. He was awarded the Silver Star in 2021. He was just starting in Delta Force training when he was killed. Above all, Jimmy was as kind, humble and generous as he was tough, brilliant and courageous.
